Snib is built so your words stay yours. This policy explains, in plain language, what Snib — made by Gabriel Faucon (“we”, “us”) — does and doesn’t collect, on this website and in the app.
The short version
- Your notes live on your device. If you turn on iCloud, they sync through your own Apple account — we never receive them, store them, or can read them.
- This website uses no analytics, no tracking, and no advertising cookies.
- We never sell your information, and nothing you write is used to train any AI model.
This website
The Snib website is a set of static pages. It sets no tracking cookies and runs no analytics or advertising scripts. Your browser stores a couple of preferences locally — your light or dark theme and your language choice — so the site remembers them next time. That stays in your browser and is never sent to us.
If you join the waitlist, we collect the email address you enter and the site language you were using, so we can let you know when Snib is available. We store it securely and use it for nothing else — no marketing lists, no sharing. Ask us at any time to remove it (see Contact).
The Snib app
Your notes, and everything in them, are stored on your device. There is no account to sign up for and no server of ours that your notes pass through.
If you enable iCloud sync, your notes are synced between your Mac and iPhone through your personal Apple iCloud account, under Apple’s terms and encryption. We have no access to your iCloud data. You can turn sync off at any time in the app or in your device’s iCloud settings.
Some features use on-device intelligence from Apple. Where a feature sends text to Apple’s private processing to fulfil a request, that happens under Apple’s privacy terms; Snib keeps no copy, and your notes are never used to train models.
Payments
Subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment-card details. Apple’s privacy policy governs that transaction; the App Store shares only aggregate, non-identifying sales information with us.
Who else is involved
We keep third parties to a minimum:
- Apple — iCloud sync and App Store billing, under Apple’s privacy policy.
- Our web host — serves these static pages, and may keep standard server logs (such as IP addresses) for security and reliability, as web servers do.
We do not use analytics, advertising, or data-broker services.
Keeping and deleting your data
A waitlist email is kept until Snib launches or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first. Your notes are yours to keep or delete: removing a note in the app, or deleting the app, removes its data from your device; any iCloud copies follow your Apple settings.
Your choices
You can ask us to access or delete the waitlist email we hold for you, turn off iCloud sync whenever you like, and clear the app’s data by deleting it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA — contact us and we’ll help.
Children
Snib is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will be noted here.
